Just saw this on www.revver.com and felt it was worthy of passing on.

Review 'coming' for the SoundDevices 722 Digital Recorder

A few weeks ago I purchased a SoundDevices 722 and I've been so happy with it. It's expensive. We're talking $2k but it's all PRO. I wanted to actually use it for a few weeks at gigs on the road before talking about it. I'm mulling over the idea of using video for the review. In the meantime if you have questions feel free to send me a note.

I posted a note on another blog I thought would be useful about my past experiences with Symbolics.com in the early 1980s. They are the number 1 (first) dot COM domain to ever be registered.

Interview with Austin Energy's CIO - Andres Carvallo

This is from the Oct. 27th update at EnterpriseLeadership.

Austin Energy, the 10th largest public utility in the United States, has a lofty corporate mission: To make Austin, Texas, the most livable city in the U.S. -- and why not? As chief information officer at Austin Energy, Andres Carvallo takes that goal seriously. In fact, he spearheaded a revolutionary program to transform a jumble of outdated legacy systems into a streamlined IT operation. He is now helping the company transform its business model to offer a range of commodity power services and to build the systems to deliver them to customers. Listen as Carvallo doesn't mince words about running IT as a business and as a service provider.
This is a short animation done by a number of ambitious people in Houston and Austin, led by Walter Stewart.
